Hi Soccer fans,
This will be very brief:
First - I just wanted to share with you a letter that a
player left for us at Cafe 58 last Saturday. It's nice to be appreciated
especially by the kids - it's why we all volunteer for this amazing
program!!! The letter is included as an image on our Home page, in
the news article and on our Cafe 58 website.
Second - Food news - Breakfast - Egg sandwiches
(with or without meat), pancakes, oatmeal, donuts, grilled cheese, COFFEE,
etc... Lunch starting around 10:30am includes hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie
burgers, chili (with or without meat). Iced tea (brewed unsweetened
tropical ice tea) is only $3 for a 32oz cup and gets RAVE REVIEWS!!! By
the way, we now accept Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, major debit and credit
cards, good old-fashioned cash and Snack Bar Bucks (these are great for the
team snacks and you get 11 bucks for only $10 - an instant $1 saving!!!).
Third (and last) - Scholarship fundraising update - As of last week, we have
raised through your purchases at Cafe 58 nearly $9,000 in funds to support our
scholarship program - these funds enable families have have their kids play
soccer when they can't afford it. Our goal this season is $15,000, but
with one weekend cancelled, some games canceled last week due to lightning and
only 3 full weeks left, we will all need to press hard to meet the goal.
Since we are all volunteers, the net proceeds of the food and drinks that are
sold at Cafe 58 go to support these scholarships, so please do your part to
help the kids - hey we all have to eat, so you might as well do it to support a
good cause!! To see an update on our Scholarship fundraising progress,
please go to this link on our website: https://www.ayso58.org/Default.aspx?tabid=937931
As always, we want to thank our Café 58 sponsors again: Umpqua Oats,
Central Valley Builders Supply and Groundwork Coffee for supporting our
community with their VERY generous donations each week.
Lastly, enjoy
your games on Saturday, keep hydrated (it's going to be hot again), and let's
all have a safe, fair and fun day. Oh, and if you haven't figured it out
yet, please come to Café 58 to support our program.
