Quick Overview
AYSO Region 58 offers a
Fall Core program only — no Winter, Spring, or Summer programs. Games are played on Saturdays at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Memorial Park. Practices are held during the week for players 6 and older.
Season Schedule
The Fall 2026 Core program is scheduled to begin in late August 2026 for all divisions 14U and younger.
16U and 19U divisions are scheduled to begin in mid-August 2026 and are expected to finish before the start of the high school soccer season.
Instructional Divisions (8U and younger)
The season will end in late November 2026.
Competitive Divisions (10U–14U)
Regular season will continue through November, depending on Regional playoff qualification. Postseason play for teams advancing to Area playoffs will occur the first or second weekends of December and can continue into January. Teams advancing beyond Area playoffs typically play January through March.
Game Day — Saturdays
Games for 14U and younger divisions are held weekly on Saturdays at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Memorial Park in Van Nuys. Games are about an hour long and usually scheduled between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Expect to be at the park for about 60–80 minutes each Saturday.
Playground and Jamboree (5U) sessions are also held each Saturday at the park, typically scheduled between 8:00 AM and noon.
Thanksgiving Weekend
There are no regular games scheduled for the weekend following Thanksgiving. The Turkey Tournament is held that weekend but is voluntary and intended for players who want a fun experience.
Practices
5U and younger
Practice is held on Saturdays just before each game session at the park.
6U and older
Practices are scheduled during the week at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park. Coaches establish practice days and times. Practices typically occur on weekday afternoons and vary in frequency and duration — expect 1–2 times per week for 60–90 minutes.
