Snack Bar update - 11/10/2023

Hi AYSO 58 Soccer fans:

With only 2 more weeks of regular season games, we really need your support to sell all of the perishable items this weekend and on 11/18.

Scholarship Fund status - So far, we have raised over $10,000 for your AYSO community, and if everyone just comes again for breakfast and/or lunch, and brings others from your team, we could reach our goal for the season.

Breakfast - Breakfast on Saturday starting at 7:00 am, as always, and served all day as long as we have eggs, English muffins and pancakes left.

Vegetarian options – many people have been asking if we have vegetarian options.  Well, we do all day!!!  Egg sandwiches (made without any meat), pancakes, grilled cheese, Air-Fried tater tots and French fries, smoothies (no dairy), chips and granola bars.

Shout out acknowledgements - I normally don't call out people due to the risk of not thanking everyone, but there are 3 people who need to be acknowledged.  Amanda Plummer has relentlessly done all of the shopping for the snack bar this season EVERY week, with multiple runs to Costco, Smart & Final and Restaurant Depot.  Mike Shen has taken, filled up, and returned the BBQ propane tanks EVERY week.  Without these two people who worked behind the scenes, we would not have been able to keep the snack bar open.  Lastly, Julie Keiper has volunteered inside the snack bar almost every week for more than 6 hours each day, and has been a life-saver for my wife and myself when we did not have the volunteers that we needed (btw, Julie is a long-time volunteer and does not have children in the program!!!) I know that there are many others who have volunteered much more than the 4 hour commitment that we ask for, but these three people have gone above and beyond. 

Lastly, enjoy your games on Saturday, keep hydrated, and let's all have a safe, fair and fun day.  Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet, please come to Café 58 to support our program.
